The Typical Yonkers Home Is Worth About $500,000
Yonkers home values are well above state and national levels, but still below the rest of Westchester County.
The median owner-occupied home in Yonkers is worth $501,600, according to the Census Bureau’s 2020–2024 survey. That’s about 18% more than the typical home in New York State and about 1.5 times the national median.

Up nearly 5% in one survey
The new figure is up from $478,000 in the previous survey (2019–2023), an increase of about 4.9%. Because each Census figure averages five years of responses, the change shows the general direction of prices rather than a single year’s jump.
Still cheaper than the rest of Westchester
Yonkers homes are still valued well below the Westchester County median. In the Census Bureau’s 2024 one-year survey, the median Yonkers home was valued at $521,700, about three-quarters of the Westchester County median of $691,100.
What the Census number measures
The Census Bureau asks homeowners what they think their home would sell for. That makes it a good measure of the value of homes people already own, including condos and co-ops, but it isn’t the same as recent sale prices. Prices for homes listed for sale today can be quite different.
